A small studio building useful things.

We build for people who run shops, crews, and storefronts — businesses that don’t have an IT department and don’t want another subscription that needs babysitting. Our design goal for every product: work the first time, do one job well, stay out of the way.

That goal shapes everything we make: store and web apps for the platforms those businesses already use (Shopify, WordPress, Chrome), and operational workbooks for the trades, starting with our GritBench line.

We keep the studio deliberately small and build it around automation: the plan is for build pipelines, testing, and support tooling to carry the repetitive work, so a small operation can keep its catalog maintained instead of abandoned.

A few standards we hold ourselves to:

• No abandonware. A product either stays maintained or gets clearly marked retired — not left to rot in a marketplace listing.
• Honest claims. Product pages describe what a tool does, and label plans as plans — no roadmap dressed up as a feature list.
• Real support. Every product routes to support@talkingscientistventures.com; we read what arrives and aim to answer within two business days.
• Payments handled by professionals. Checkout runs through established marketplaces and payment platforms — we run no checkout of our own, so your card details don’t pass through us.
